The Public and Private Workers of Canada (PPWC) strongly opposes the Trump administration’s tariffs on Canadian products. These unjustified trade barriers are a direct attack on Canadian workers, their families, and the industries that sustain our economy. Trump’s corporate-driven agenda seeks to bully Canada into submission, but we refuse to be pawns in his reckless economic games.

Canadian workers are not for sale. Our livelihoods cannot be sacrificed to satisfy the interests of billionaires and multinational corporations looking to squeeze even more profits from working people. These tariffs, imposed under false pretenses, harm not only Canadian industries like forestry, steel, and aluminum but also American consumers and businesses that rely on fair and stable trade with Canada.

PPWC stands in solidarity with workers across Canada who are fighting for fair wages, safe jobs, and economic security. We reject the idea that our future should be dictated by a foreign leader who prioritizes corporate greed over working-class prosperity. Instead of caving to Trump’s pressure, Canada must stand firm and protect its industries and workers from economic exploitation.

Workers built this country—not corporations, not politicians, and certainly not Trump’s trade policies. We demand a trade relationship that respects workers on both sides of the border, not one dictated by threats and economic extortion. The PPWC will continue to fight against any attempts to undermine our jobs, our dignity, and our right to fair trade.
