As we come to the close of another year, the Public and Private Workers of Canada (PPWC) extends our warmest holiday wishes to each and every one of our members and to working people across the country. This season is a time to rest, reflect, and reconnect with family, friends, and community—but it is also a moment to recognize the collective strength that makes our union movement possible.

Throughout the past year, PPWC members have stood together in the face of uncertainty, economic pressure, and change. From the shop floor to public services, from urban centres to rural communities, your solidarity has been the foundation of every gain we have made. When workers unite, we protect one another, defend our rights, and ensure that no one is left behind. That shared commitment—to fairness, dignity, and respect at work—is what defines PPWC.

The holiday season reminds us that many of the rights we now enjoy were not gifts freely given. Paid holidays, safer workplaces, fair wages, pensions, and benefits were all won through collective action and the determination of union members who believed in a better future. Those victories belong to you, and they inspire us to keep pushing forward.

As we look ahead to the new year, we do so with optimism and resolve. There is still work to be done to address rising costs of living, to strengthen public services, to protect good jobs, and to ensure that every worker—unionized or not—has a voice on the job. Together, we will continue to stand up for workers’ rights, advocate for strong communities, and demand an economy that works for people, not just profits.

This holiday season, we thank you for your dedication, your courage, and your solidarity. May the weeks ahead bring rest, joy, and renewed hope. United, we will continue building a fairer, more just future for all workers.

Happy Holidays from everyone at the Public and Private Workers of Canada.
