Sisters and Brothers,
This year on Labour Day in Gibsons, BC, the Sunshine Coast Labour Council, along with PPWC Local 8, provided a platform where candidates from political parties engaged directly with the community on matters that affect workers. Topics such as fair wages, job security, workplace safety, and workers’ rights were discussed.
The afternoon was intertwined with musical performances from local artists such as myself with my children by my side. This yearly event is especially important to me as the PPWC has proven itself as a true democratic union on all levels. I have witnessed this personally and I truly am raising my children in the arms of the union. I am a proud PPWC soldier. Thank you very much for your time.
